Cancellations
At Zen Dog Grooming, we value your time and strive to provide the best possible service to all our clients. To maintain our high standards of service and respect the time allocated for each appointment, we have established the following cancellation policy. All clients are required to maintain a valid credit card on file, which will be used to process any applicable fees outlined in this policy.
Appointment Cancellations
We understand that circumstances may arise that require you to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Due to high demand, we maintain an active waitlist of clients hoping to schedule appointments. Timely notification of cancellations allows us to accommodate these waiting clients. To avoid any cancellation fees, please notify us at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time.
Late Cancellation Fee
Any cancellation made with less than 24 hours notice will incur a $25 late cancellation fee. This fee helps us compensate our team member for the reserved time slot that could have been offered to another client. The fee will be automatically charged to the credit card on file.
No-Show Policy
If you fail to appear for your scheduled appointment without any prior notification ("no-show"), you will be charged one-third (1/3) of your scheduled grooming service price. This fee will be automatically charged to the credit card on file. This fee allows us to compensate our team members for their scheduled time and preparation. The fee will be automatically charged to the credit card on file.
Late Arrival Policy
We understand that unexpected delays can happen. If you anticipate being late for your appointment, please notify us as soon as possible. We offer a 15-minute grace period for clients who inform us of their delayed arrival.
Please note that if you arrive more than 15 minutes late, or if your delay extends beyond our grace period, we may need to reschedule your appointment due to scheduling constraints with other clients. This helps us maintain our commitment to providing complete, quality grooming services to all clients while staying on schedule.
Late arrivals that require rescheduling will be subject to our standard cancellation policy.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with our cancellation policy. These guidelines help us maintain our commitment to providing excellent service to all our valued clients.
Late Pick-up
Zen Dog Spa closes at 5pm. For pick up after 5pm, a Late Pick-up Fee will be applied as follows: $25 for every 15 minutes after a 15 minute grace period after 5pm.
Policy Acknowledgment
By booking an appointment with Zen Dog Grooming, you acknowledge and agree to comply with this cancellation policy and authorize any applicable charges to your credit card on file. We reserve the right to decline future service for clients with repeated cancellations or no-shows.
Vaccinations
The following vaccinations are required for all dogs receiving grooming services: Distemper/Parvo and Rabies. Titer test results will also be accepted. It is the responsibility of the client to provide updated vaccinations for their pet(s). Pets with expired vaccinations may be refused service.
Dematting
Animals with severely matted coats require extra attention. Mats in an animal’s coat grow tight, and can ultimately damage and tear the animal's skin, which provides a breeding ground for parasite infestations.
Zen Dog Spa will not cause serious or undue stress to your pet by dematting. Mats can be very difficult to remove, and may require the pet to be shaved. Removing a heavily matted coat can cause nicks, cuts or abrasions due to skin growths trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture and urine near the pet's skin allowing mold, fungus or bacteria to grow, producing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process.
If dematting can be done in a safe and comfortable manner, there will be an additional charge.
After-effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions and failure of the hair to regrow. In some cases, pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes. Prevention is the best defense by scheduling regular grooming appointments, every 4-8 weeks. If your pet needs to be shaved to remove matting, your groomer will alert you before doing so.
Health & Medical
Occasionally, grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one. This can occur during or after grooming. Please make sure to alert us of any current or past issues so that we may keep an eye out for them. All medical expenses for veterinary care for pre-existing conditions will be covered by the pet's owner.

Although accidents are very rare, there is a risk when dealing with animals. Grooming equipment is sharp, and although we use extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems could occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, quicking of nails, etc. In most cases this can happen when an animal is wiggling or moving around.

Your pet’s safety and comfort is our number one priority. In the event an accident does occur, you will be notified of the accident. We will seek immediate veterinary care for your pet with the closest vet clinic if necessary.
